FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brad Furr Announces 2003 Race Plans
Pleasanton, CA, (Dec
04, 2002) – Brad
Furr Racing today announced the team's plans for the 2003 race season.
The year, the team plans on participating in approximately 55 events
with approximately
one half being with the Golden State Challenge "King of California" Sprint
Car Series. In addition, the team plans on racing a number of events
with the World of Outlaws and the annual Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup.
The
first
event of the 2003 race season will be the World of Outlaws season opener
in Hanford, California. Brad Furr said "We figured that after four
years on the road running approximately 130 nights a year when you
include Australia,
it is time to focus on other priorities in life. Our goal is to continue
to race, winning several along the way, and just enjoy life a bit more.
Running with the World of Outlaws is both a tremendous learning experience
and
very
rewarding. However, it is intense and it is very much a business. The
pressure night in and night out is huge. For this year, we want to
enjoy the sport
and have some fun."
Mike Harper, the team long time Crew Chief and
the winner of the 2002 World of Outlaws Crew Chief of the Year Award
added, "I
am really looking forward to the 2003 season as a year to enjoying
the sport. Last year I drove over 60,000 miles. This year, I am starting
a new
job and
I want to focus my efforts on being successful with the job. However,
I can also look forward to the weekends now knowing I can still do
what I enjoy."
